Skandinavisk Motor Co. A/S

Skandinavisk Motor Co. A/S is Semler Gruppen’s import division and is the general importer of Volkswagen cars and vans, Audi, SEAT, ŠKODA and Porsche in Denmark. In addition to importing cars, the company imports original Volkswagen spare parts and accessories.

Skandinavisk Motor Co. A/S was founded in 1917 by brothers Axel and Johannes Semler together with their father, Eiler Semler. Scandinavisk Motor Co. A/S has imported many different brands of car for almost 100 years. During the first decades, Hudson, Essex and Packard were the imported brands. These were then followed by Bentley, Rolls Royce and BMW.

In 1948, as the fourth importer in the world, Axel Semler succeeded in securing the import of Volkswagen to Denmark and the first model that was imported was the legendary “People’s Car”. Porsche was added to the range in 1951, Audi in 1975 and SEAT and Škoda in 1990 and 1999 respectively.
